We’re going on a book hunt!

I sometimes maybe take out a few too many library books…
By the time Arlo and I make our way back home, my fabric tote bag is tearing at the seams as I lug a heaping pile of books in one hand and my little reader’s hand in the other.

I have major nostalgia for the last days of school when we got a summer reading list, or a Scholastics catalogue to pick new goodies. And while most days were outside, I still yearned for some quiet grass-time reading material. So before The Hare Who Heard comes out, I’m on a quest before the summer ends to find 40 of our favourite children’s picture books, as my little guy and I read through them together.
Ones that make us giggle repeating their silly phrases, ones that make the parents shed a tear, ones we have to read five times at bedtime, or ones that have beautiful, imaginative illustrations. I’ll also put a few in there that deserve special recognition as Arlo’s stamp of approval!
Find the time to get into a slow, cozy quiet corner, or beside an evening campfire, even in the grasp of the last days of summer.
Also, go to the library! Get a library card! Our children need one before they get a tablet.
